Marple Aqueduct (side view looking E), Peak Forest Canal

Opened in 1800, this three-arched aqueduct carries the Peak Forest canal over the beautiful River Goyt at a height of almost 100 feet. Designed by the engineer, Benjamin Outram, it is known as one of the wonders of the Cheshire Ring - deservedly scheduled as an ancient monument.
